About Me

Norwood Coleman, Jr., LCSW-S, ACSW is a native of Wilmington, DE and the Executive Clinical Administrator at the Life Health Center.

Mr. Coleman, a preferred provider by the State of Delaware DPBHS in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavior Therapy (TF-CBT) and Child-Family Traumatic Stress Intervention (CFTSI), is a passionate advocate and volunteer leader, actively engaged in the community through work with various non-profit organizations including Duffy’s Hope, the Connecticut Youth Excellence Program, and One World Classroom. He is an advisory board member with National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) in Delaware. He has held multiple board leadership roles with the Delaware Chapter of the National Association of Social Works (NASW). Notably, under his board leadership, the NASW spearheaded the subcommittee which moved HB311 into law, bringing multi-tiered social work licensure for the protection of the public. In addition to Mr. Coleman’s professional and volunteer social advocacy for youth and their families, he is also an avid supporter of the arts as a part of a holistic educational experience. Mr. Coleman is an accomplished pianist and violinist, and he has taught violin, viola, and piano at the Christina Cultural Arts Center. He is the founder of the Umoja String Ensemble and the Minister of Music at the Unity Lutheran Church in Wilmington.   Mr. Coleman dedicates his life to the wellness of youth and their families through his giving spirit and dedication to lifelong learning, holding fast to the belief that all people are valuable and should be given the opportunity to contribute their gifts and talents to the Symphony of Life.  Your Presence is your invitation into the room.
